Art and Literature Showcase: National Native American Heritage Month

A celebration of Native American heritage through art!

Art supplies

In November, we honor and celebrate the history of Native Americans and present-day Native American culture during National Native American Heritage Month. Submit a creative work for display at the library for our November Art and Literature Showcase, and you’ll automatically be entered into a drawing to win a prize!

The showcase is open to all ages—one submission per person! Submissions should reflect the theme by celebrating the contributions, achievements, sacrifices, and cultural and historical legacy of the original inhabitants of what is now the United States and their descendants.  Patrons may submit a visual art piece (all mediums accepted—crayons, pencil, color pencil, marker, charcoal, paint, collage, pastel, photography, digital, etc.), comic, or a written piece (poetry, short story, essay, journal entry, or letter) for a chance to have the work displayed and to be entered into the drawing. Any submission (written or visual) should be no bigger than 8.5 x 11inches; only 2 dimensional items will be accepted. The submission form can be downloaded here
