About The Colony City History Project

Help collect and preserve our history.

The Colony History Project began in October 2006 to commemorate the City of The Colony's 30th anniversary and The Colony Public Library's 25th anniversary. Since then, The Colony History Project Committee has collected over 130 items detailing the history of the area that is now The Colony, Texas. The Colony Public Library has been working with The Colony History Project Committee in an effort to continue collecting and preserving these historical documents, maps, photos, genealogy reports, and artifacts.

One of the long-range goals of this project is to share collected items with the general public. The Colony Public Library houses a local History Corner in which cataloged items may be viewed in-house. In the future, digitized items and access to genealogical resources will be available through this Web page.
